FAQ
Fast answers for the things most users need before or shortly after launch.
AutoToken is a tabletop creature workshop. You can create portrait tokens, top-down tokens, statblocks, saved creature packages, and Foundry-ready exports from one connected workspace.
No. You can use one workshop at a time, such as just the portrait token maker or just the statblock station. When you do want a complete package, the loaded creature system keeps the pieces connected.
AutoToken creates 5e-compatible creatures. It is built and tuned for the 2024 rules, also supports the 2014 rules, and the Foundry import path builds dnd5e NPC actors. Other game systems are not supported for creature creation right now.
AutoToken cannot clear rights for every prompt, upload, or output. Review the Legal Center before using output in published, marketplace, streaming, or commercial projects, and only upload material you have rights to use.
Join the AutoToken Discord to share creature showcases, file bug reports, suggest feature ideas, join Foundry discussion, and talk with the community. For account, billing, privacy, or other sensitive support, email feedback@autotoken.app.
Email feedback@autotoken.app with the page or route where it happened, your browser, the steps to reproduce it, and a screenshot when possible.
Billing
The current pricing model is intentionally simple while AutoToken moves through launch.
Artificer is $9/month or $90/year at the Early Adopter promotion price, for unlimited top-down creatures and rerolls within fair use. Checkout always shows the active offer.
Creatures and rerolls are unlimited for real use, with a ceiling that keeps AutoToken affordable: 200 top-down generations each billing month and 40 in any 24 hours. A generation is one new token set, reroll or pose redo. At the limit, editing, exports, the Vault and Foundry keep working, and a creature pack keeps you generating. Each generation frees up 24 hours after it was made, and the month resets on your billing date. ORB chats (500 a month) and statblock generations (100 a month) have fair use too, reset on the 1st.
Yes. Cancel from Manage billing on your Account page. Access remains active through the subscription period you already paid for, and cancellation stops future renewal.
No. The free tier is meant to let you try the workshop before you pay for anything.
New free accounts get 3 top-down creature starts to try the workshop with, and each free creature gets 5 rerolls. The starts are a one-time grant rather than a monthly allowance. Accounts that existed before 23 September 2026 keep the earlier 3-per-month allowance.
A creature pack is a one-time $5 purchase of 5 top-down creatures, each with 20 rerolls. They never expire, and they add 5 Vault entries so you have somewhere to keep the creatures you make with them. Packs stack, and buying one does not start a subscription. On Free, pack creatures are used after your free starts; on Artificer, a pack keeps you generating past fair use.

AutoToken V2 is replacing the main site, but the original app remains available for existing V1 credit holders at v1.autotoken.app.
Foundry
AutoToken exports canonical creature packages; the Foundry module adapts them into dnd5e NPC actors.
Open the Foundry station in AutoToken, copy the manifest URL, and paste it into Foundry's Add-on Modules installer. After installation, enable AutoToken in your world.
Foundry checks the module manifest for updates. When AutoToken publishes a new module version, Foundry can update the module from the same manifest URL you used for install.
No. The linked AutoToken module makes encrypted outbound requests from your open Foundry browser session. AutoToken does not need your Foundry address, open port, server password, or hosting credentials.
Yes. Open My Vault in the AutoToken module, link your account, and import or drag a saved creature onto the canvas. Save website edits to Vault first so the module receives your latest saved work.
Choose the target and the components to update inside Foundry. The current module does not publish your selected actor or token to a website Send window. Vault requests identify the saved creature whose package you are importing.
No. AutoToken does not put IP addresses into Foundry connection records, creature exports, target previews, or import reports. As with any website request, normal hosting and security infrastructure may process the request's public IP under the site's general privacy and logging policies.
The website Send action has been retired. Save to Vault and use My Vault in the Foundry module, drag a saved creature onto the canvas, or download a package for manual import. The Portrait workshop also supports direct token drag-and-drop.
Use AutoToken's canonical creature JSON or saved creature package JSON. The launch importer rejects raw Foundry Actor JSON because the module is responsible for building version-appropriate dnd5e actor data.
Icons are chosen when you save a creature and travel inside the creature package as final image URLs. On import, the Foundry module copies them into your world alongside the portrait and token art — no separate icon module is needed.
Vault
Vault is your saved creature library. Load finished creatures and working drafts back into the workshops whenever you need them.
Use the Vault controls where available, or contact feedback@autotoken.app for account and data deletion requests.
No. Vault entries are private unless you choose a sharing or export workflow. Exported files and downloaded assets are under your control after you download or import them.
