From the journal of Barthagor the Magnificent
Day 48. The elusive gelatinous cube is, I can now confirm, perfectly transparent. It glides the corridors at a leisurely pace, swallowing whatever fails to notice it. Coins, boots, the occasional adventurer. I noticed it immediately. From the inside.
Its acid is mild, invigorating even, and does wonders for a wizard's complexion. Steel will cut it, fire will melt it, and it has no mind to speak of, which made our conversation brief.
Recommended approach: stand very still and let it come to you. I did precisely that, entirely on purpose. It is also an excellent way to clean a dungeon, provided one retrieves the valuables before the cube does.
As seen in The Misadventures of Barthagor, Episode 1: “Day 48: The Gelatinous Cube”. Coming soon to YouTube.
